Infectious mononucleosis or also known as glandular fever is an infectious disease. This disease is happen usually due to an infection by the Epstein–Barr virus (EBV). People usually get infected when they were young, that unfortunately produce no symptom, so that they do not know that they get infected. People that get infected by this virus can get better on its own in 2 or 4 weeks. SYMPTOMS


As stated above, infection by the Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) to young people usually produc e little to no symptoms. However, if infection happen to young adult, it will produce symptoms. The symptom of the glandular fever in young adult are fever, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and feeling tired. This tired feeling may last for months even after other symptoms has gone away. Another symptom that may not be clearly apparent is the swollen of the liver or spleen. Worst case is splenic rupture. CAUSES


The cause of Infectious mononucleosis (IM) or glandular fever is the Epstein–Barr virus (EBV). This virus is also known as human perpesvirus. This virus is a member of the herpes virus family. Any other type of virus may also cause this disease. The spreading of this virus is mainly through the saliva. Although rare, but the virus is also can be spread through semen or blood. Virus can spread through the personal things like glasses and toothbrushes.The virus can be spreaded weeks before symptoms even developed.
