The symptoms of syphilis depend on the stage of the disease. There are 4 stages in this disease, which are primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary. Syphilis is caused by bacterial infection. The type of bacteria that is responsible for this infection is called as bacterium Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum. This type of bacterium also can cause other disease like yaws.
