Heat stroke is a condition related with our body’s inability to cope with heat. There are many conditions that can be grouped as heat stroke, which are heat edema, heat rash, heat cramps, heat syncope, and heat exhaustion. There are two forms of heat stroke. One form of heat stroke is Exertional Heat Stroke (EHS), that usually occurs at young individuals that engage is intense physical activity in a hot environment. Other form of Heat Stroke is Classic nonexertional heatstroke (NEHS), which usually more common in elder person who has chronic illness. Both types of heatstroke are associated with high morbidity and mortality, especially when cooling therapy is delayed. Symptoms of heat stroke sometimes misjudge of being symptom of other condition such as heart attack. Before developing symptom of heat strokes, sometimes person exhibiting symptoms of heat exhaustion. Heat stroke is happen because of so many things including lack of air conditioning in house, poor air flow, not drink enough water, and excessive consumption of alcohol. Heat stroke also can be happen due to heat waves attack. It happen when heat index reach 90 degrees or more. Heat Index is a combined measurement of relative humidity and air temperature. Humidity more than 60% can easily hamper sweat evaporation, which in turn reducing our body to cool itself.
